Warsaw Breaks Ground on Major New Swimming Complex in Białołęka

Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski has laid the foundation stone for a modern swimming complex on Ostródzka Street, with construction expected to conclude in the second half of 2027.

Construction Milestones in Białołęka

A modern swimming complex is currently under construction on Ostródzka Street. Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski and Białołęka district officials recently marked the project’s progress by laying the foundation stone.

The project has entered its most intensive construction stage. Completion of the investment is scheduled for the second half of 2027.

Project Design and Amenities

The project, located on a 2.5-hectare site at the intersection of Ostródzka and Hemara streets, will cost over 92.5 million PLN. The 12,680 m2 facility will include a swimming complex, relaxation zones, and a sauna suite.

Key features include stainless steel pool basins, a 15-meter tower with outdoor slides measuring 140m and 57m, and a 5m internal slide. The complex will also feature a restaurant, a garden terrace, and full accessibility for people with disabilities.

Meeting International Competition Standards

The facility will be constructed by NDI S.A. from Sopot and is designed to meet the requirements of the Polish Swimming Association and FINA (2021–2025). This allows the venue to host school, regional, and national swimming competitions.

This will be the second municipal pool in Białołęka, serving as a critical piece of sports infrastructure for the northern part of the city.

Broader Citywide Sports Investment

Warsaw continues to invest in the modernization of municipal sports facilities. Ongoing projects include upgrades in Mokotów, Wola, Włochy, and Ursynów, as well as the construction of a new indoor pool at the Namysłowska Center.
