Łatwogang Pedals Across Poland: Half of Goal Reached for Gene Therapy

Influencer Piotr Hancke, known as Łatwogang, is cycling from Zakopane to Gdańsk to raise 12 million PLN for a child’s life-saving gene therapy, having already secured half the target amount.

Charity Ride in Progress

Piotr Hancke is currently cycling through the Łódź Voivodeship, aiming to cover the distance from Zakopane to Gdańsk in approximately 40 hours. The influencer noted that the ride relies heavily on the support of his online audience, emphasizing that even watching the livestream and its advertisements contributes to the cause.

As of Saturday afternoon, over 6 million PLN has been raised out of the 12 million PLN goal. Hancke is accompanied by a technical support team in a vehicle, and he intends to return to Zakopane immediately following his arrival in Gdańsk.

Motivations and Medical Needs

The fundraiser focuses on securing funds for gene therapy for a child named Maks, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The total cost of the treatment is approximately 15 million PLN, with over 3 million PLN raised since October 2025.

Hancke decided to organize the trip shortly after completing his previous major charity initiative. He noted that while there are many children in need, he was particularly moved by Maks’s story after receiving a direct request for help via email.

Past Successes

Maks Tocki, who expressed feelings of euphoria and disbelief regarding the campaign, is currently in the second grade of primary school. The young boy, who enjoys football and drawing, initially felt stressed by the spotlight but has since come to understand the necessity of the effort.

This initiative follows a record-breaking campaign by Łatwogang that raised over 251 million PLN for the Cancer Fighters foundation. That previous broadcast lasted over nine days and attracted up to 1.5 million concurrent viewers at its peak.
