Internet personality Piotr Hancke, known as Łatwogang, faces safety hazards while cycling to the Baltic Sea to raise funds for eight-year-old Maks Tocki’s Duchenne muscular dystrophy treatment.
Safety Risks on the Route
Due to his significant online popularity, crowds of fans have been riding alongside the influencer to take photos, creating dangerous conditions. During the journey, Hancke had to suddenly jump off his bike to avoid a collision.
The influencer expressed alarm, stating that the situation is creating a high risk of someone falling or getting hit by a car. He urged supporters to avoid riding alongside him to prevent a potential tragedy.
Fundraising Progress
The campaign, which began on Friday, aims to cover the 15 million PLN cost of gene therapy for Maks Tocki. As of early afternoon, nearly 6 million PLN had been raised.
Hancke still has over 400 kilometers left to cycle before reaching Gdańsk. From there, he plans to sleep for several hours before cycling back toward the Tatra Mountains.
Logistics of the Charity Ride
The influencer is being followed by a support car carrying friends throughout the trip. He admitted that he did not plan a detailed route before setting out on this journey.
This initiative follows a previous record-breaking charity event where Hancke raised over 251 million PLN for the Cancer Fighters foundation, attracting 1.5 million peak concurrent viewers.
