A 24-year-old Małopolskie resident fleeing a traffic stop was arrested after throwing a safe with 80,000 zł from his car; faces life for hotel stabbing.
The Traffic Stop Escape
During a routine traffic stop on December 22, 2025, in Tarczyn, officers attempted to stop a speeding Ford. The driver refused to comply and fled, throwing a safe containing 80,000 zł and a phone from the vehicle during the chase.
The 24-year-old Małopolskie resident was quickly apprehended despite his attempts to dispose of evidence.
Evidence and Warrant Status
Police found a hammer and stolen license plates inside the vehicle. The suspect was already wanted by Warsaw I and Zielonka police for a previous crime.
The thrown items, including the safe and phone, were secured as evidence.
Previous Attempted Murder Charge
The man is suspected of attempting to murder a hotel guest in July 2025 by stabbing him twice with a knife in a prestigious Warsaw hotel. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
Warsaw Śródmieście detectives identified him through operational work, listing him as a wanted individual in police systems.
Custody and Prosecution
He was formally charged with attempted murder under Article 13 § 1 and Article 148 § 1 of the Penal Code, carrying a potential life sentence.
The Warsaw Śródmieście–Północ District Court granted a three-month pretrial detention request from prosecutors overseeing the case.
