Unmarked police car collides with passenger vehicle at Warsaw intersection, injuring three people.
Accident Details
On Friday, January 16, at approximately 16:20, a serious collision occurred at the intersection of Leszno and Okopowa streets on Warsaw’s Wola district. The accident involved an unmarked police vehicle and a passenger car, resulting in three people being taken to hospital.
The collision happened when the unmarked police Opel, traveling on Okopowa street from Kercelak toward Rondo AK Radosław with emergency signals activated, entered the intersection on a red light. A Skoda passenger vehicle hit the police car’s left door, causing the Opel to move onto the roadside where it additionally struck a traffic light.
Emergency Response
Firefighters, medical rescue teams, and police were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the area and provided first aid to the injured. After working on the damaged Opel, including freeing people from the vehicle, they handed the victims over to medical rescuers for treatment.
Injured Parties
Six people were involved in the accident: one person from the Skoda and five from the police car. The police Opel contained five people: three officers and two detained individuals. One police officer and two detained individuals being transported in the police vehicle were taken to hospital.
Investigation Underway
For over three hours, traffic police officers worked at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor to establish the detailed circumstances of the incident.
