A sudden fire erupted in a warehouse on Krzyżanowicka Street in Bochni, early Tuesday morning, prompting the arrival of 24 fire brigade units and specialized teams.
Warehouse Fire
Just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, emergency services received a report of a blaze on Krzyżanowicka Street in Bochni (Małopolska). According to RMF FM and local media, the fire consumed a storage hall housing a waste‑management company. The local press officer, second lieutenant Hubert Ciepły, also confirmed the presence of a tire storage area on site.
Dozens of Firefighters in Action
Twenty‑four units, totaling 100 firefighters responded to the incident. A special chemical team, “Kraków 6,” was also on the scene, using the SRRChem MobiLab mobile laboratory to monitor air quality. Firefighters also employed a robot for tasks that were too hazardous for humans.
Fire Contained
By approximately 6:20 a.m., the fire was brought under control and stopped spreading. The crew is now pumping water over the burnt materials. Residents are safe; however, firefighters advised shutting windows until the fire is fully extinguished. No casualties have been reported.
