Search Operation Initiated for Missing Man
A large-scale search operation took place on the Vistula River on Saturday, April 25th, resulting in the discovery of one body. A subsequent report came in regarding another body found further upstream.
The search was organized at the request of the family of Sylwester Gładys, following a coordination meeting held on Wednesday to plan the river search and assign tasks.
Extensive River Search Efforts
Six boats equipped with sonar were deployed during Saturday’s search, with over 20 people participating, including divers and lifeguards. Despite challenging weather conditions, the search proceeded according to plan.
Participants included rescuers from WOPR BRZEG, OSP ORW Łódź, Aquazone, Nurek Detektorysta, as well as family, volunteers, and friends, according to Daniel Dymiński.

The first body was discovered by WOPR BRZEG, and authorities were immediately notified. While relaying information to police, a report came in about a second body found upstream.
Organizers confirmed that neither of the recovered bodies belonged to the missing men, Sylwester Gładys or Krzysztof Dymiński, and the search for them continues.
Investigation Underway
Both cases have been turned over to law enforcement, with police conducting investigations under the supervision of the prosecutor. The bodies have been secured for further examination.
Authorities will work to determine the identities of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
