The Discovery in Las Wolski

During a search operation for a 12-year-old girl, municipal guards located the body of a young female in the Las Wolski area on Saturday afternoon. Sub-inspector Katarzyna Cisło of the Kraków Police confirmed that the individual’s appearance and clothing match the description provided in the missing person report.

The missing girl had not returned home after meeting friends on Thursday. Surveillance footage indicated that she exited a bus near the zoo located within the Las Wolski forest area.

Extensive Search Efforts

Prior to the discovery, a massive search effort involving hundreds of police officers, firefighters, and Territorial Defense Forces had been launched. Officials utilized drones, quads, and specialized tracking dogs while also investigating vacant buildings and private security footage.

Statistics on Missing Persons

Over 13,000 cases of disappearances were reported in Poland last year, with the majority of individuals found within the first few weeks. Authorities emphasize that time is critical in such cases, and reports should be filed immediately without waiting for any mandatory waiting period.
