On Thursday, January 15, around 14:40, a serious collision occurred on Wawelska Street in Warsaw at number 5 near the Skra sports center. A Ford car heading towards Praga collided with a municipal bus of line 143, after which the car driver fled on foot.
Preliminary Findings
According to preliminary findings, the Ford driver hit the rear of the line 143 bus, which was stopped at its initial stop. There were no passengers in the bus, only the bus driver was present. The car driver fled the scene, abandoning the car and an injured passenger.
Emergency Response
Witnesses reported that the Ford driver did not brake before the collision, hitting the bus at an estimated speed of around 60 km/h. Emergency services including the fire department, police, and medical rescue team were called to the scene.
Aftermath
Firefighters secured the incident area, neutralized fluids from the vehicles, and handed the injured passenger to medical personnel. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the hospital. Police are investigating to establish the identity of the car driver and the circumstances of the collision.
