A dog has blocked the Warsaw M1 metro line between Plac Wilsona and Młociny, forcing a temporary suspension of train service on Tuesday, Oct 14.

Dog blocks M1 line

A canine slipped into the tunnel ahead of the M1 line, prompting the Warsaw Metro to halt trains running between Plac Wilsona and Młociny on October 14.

Operational response

Metro services are actively locating and securing the animal to ensure quick, safe clearance of the tunnel and rail track. Personnel are inspecting the affected tunnel segment and securing the infrastructure.

Priority is given to the safety of the dog, passengers and train crews.

Impact on commuters

Until the operation concludes, trains on the affected portion of the M1 line remain off‑service. Passengers are advised to monitor announcements and consider alternative routes.

Transit alternatives

The Warsaw Traffic Authority (WTP) reports that due to the incident at SŁODOWIEC station, several stations—including Plac Wilsona, Marymont, Słodowiec, Stare Bielany, Wawrzyszew and Młociny—are excluded from service. Trains are running in a loop between Dw. Gdański and KABATY, and bus line ZA METRO has been activated along a route linking Młociny, Kasprowicza, Słowackiego, Plac Wilsona, Mickiewicza, Dw. Gdański, Andersa, and Muranowska.
