Firefighters rescued two men from a burning vacant building in Grojec, Poland on January 15, but one died at the scene while the other was hospitalized.
Fire at Abandoned Building
On Thursday, January 15 around 21:15 in Grojec (Masovian Voivodeship), there was a fire in a vacant building at Armii Krajowej Street. Two men were evacuated from the building – one was taken to the hospital, and the other was pronounced dead.
Emergency Response
The report concerned a fire in an abandoned building. According to the spokesperson of the State Fire Service in Grojec, a total of five fire brigades were dispatched for the operation: three firefighting teams from JRG Grojec, a commanding officer, and one team from OSP Grojec.
Victim Information
During the operation, firefighters evacuated two men from the building. One of them was handed over to the medical rescue team and transported to the hospital. The second – as reported by the services – showed no vital signs; his death was confirmed at the scene.
Aftermath
After extinguishing the fire and pouring over the debris, the fire service operations were concluded, and the area was handed over to the police. Further actions at the scene were carried out by police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
