A trailer carrying two horses collapsed on the S8 toward Warsaw near Janki on Thursday, November 27 at 1 p.m. when the tow hook ripped from a Honda passenger car.
Incident Details
A passenger vehicle towing a trailer with a mare and foal on the S8 heading for Warsaw lost its tow hook at the Janki junction, causing the trailer to overturn onto the roadway.
Animals’ Condition
The mare, foal, and a second stallion were found unharmed, though visibly stressed. One horse escaped immediately and the other was stabilized by emergency services.
Emergency Response
Firefighters secured the overturned trailer, extracted the second horse, and placed the wreckage back on its wheels. Police secured the area and oversaw traffic while waiting for roadside assistance to remove the damaged trailer.
Road Disruption
As a result of the incident, one lane toward Warsaw is closed, and a queue extends to the Paszków junction.
