Kaczyński to Attend Independence March; Mastalerek Satirizes: “Like a Fist in the Nose”

Former Chief of Staff of President Duda, Jacek Mastalerek, criticized Jarosław Kaczyński’s decision to join Poland’s Independence March, calling it absurd and likening the party’s involvement to a punch in the nose.

1. Mastalerek Hits Kaczyński Over March Participation

Former chief of staff Jacek Mastalerek told Polsat that Jarosław Kaczyński is set to attend the Independence March and expressed disbelief that the PiS leader opted to do so. He remarked that the march is organized by a large, successful movement that PiS did not build and criticised the party for its past failure to organize such an event.

Mastalerek added that PiS had previously struggled to bring the march together and now must contribute, questioning the logic of the decision.

He noted that Kaczyński, who has been defending himself in media with Sławomir Mentzen, is indeed moving toward the march. He urged right‑wing voters to voice their views and complaints about eight years of PiS governance.

2. Mastalerek Criticizes PiS President’s Involvement

According to Mastalerek, the idea of PiS participation is so foolish it might have been conceived by Jacek Kurski, and he himself would avoid such a move.

He said Kaczyński frequently uses the phrase “like a fist in the nose” and described the match between the leader and the march as completely unbelievable. Mastalerek also criticised Kaczyński’s conflict with the Confederation and noted that the leader works hard to maintain PiS but still has no coalition partner.

3. PiS Clerk Confirms Kaczyński’s Attendance at the March

Mariusz Błaszczak, chairman of the PiS parliamentary club, confirmed that Jarosław Kaczyński will attend the Independence March, and that other PiS politicians will join him as well.

He stated that the march is for Polish patriots, not nationalists, and that the president will also be present. Karol Nawrocki added that he had attended the march before with his wife Marta, and would attend again.
