Kraków Referendum Concludes: Late Poll Results Released

Following the conclusion of Sunday’s referendum in Kraków, late poll results indicate a 31.8 percent turnout, as residents voted on the proposed removal of Mayor Aleksander Miszalski and the City Council.

Late Poll Findings

Late poll results released after 11:00 PM show little variance from the 9:00 PM data. The OGB survey conducted for Polsat News and Stan360 estimates the final turnout at 31.8 percent, revised from an initial figure of 33.4 percent.

Of the participating voters, 97.8 percent supported the recall of Aleksander Miszalski, while 96 percent voted to dissolve the Kraków City Council, with a margin of error of approximately two percentage points.

Validation and Official Counting

The validity of the referendum hinges on meeting a specific turnout threshold: at least 3/5 of the number of voters who participated in the second round of the mayoral election, or a minimum of 158,555 residents.

The Kraków branch of the National Electoral Office expects to announce the official, finalized results on the morning of Monday, May 25.

Voting Process and Eligibility

Sunday’s voting took place across 453 polling stations, which opened at 7:00 AM. While the majority were standard locations, 41 were specialized stations situated in medical facilities, nursing homes, prisons, and detention centers.

Eligibility was restricted to residents with active voting rights permanently residing in Kraków. The primary polling station for each voter was determined by the address listed in the Central Voter Register.
