On 29 April, 35‑year‑old Jarosław W. broke into the office of an orthopaedic surgeon at the Kraków University Hospital, repeatedly stabbed the doctor and fled, resulting in the doctor’s death. Jarosław W. was a prison officer and had previously been operated on by the same surgeon two years earlier, a procedure he reportedly was dissatisfied with.
