300 Plus 2026: Application Deadlines and Eligibility for School Supplies Benefit

Parents can apply for the 300 PLN “Good Start” school supply benefit starting July 1, 2026, to assist with educational expenses regardless of household income, provided they meet specific age requirements.

The “Good Start” Program Overview

The “Good Start” program, launched in 2018, provides a one-time 300 PLN payment per school-aged child to assist with purchasing textbooks, backpacks, and other school essentials. The benefit is independent of family income, making it accessible to every eligible household.

Despite its popularity, many parents miss out by failing to submit applications. While millions of requests are processed annually, some parents mistakenly believe the grant is automatic, though it requires a fresh application every year.

Eligibility: Age and Education Requirements

The benefit is available for children starting at age 7, typically when they begin the first grade of primary school. Children in kindergarten or those in mandatory pre-school preparatory classes, known as “zerówka,” are not eligible.

Students may receive the benefit until they turn 20, or until age 24 for those with certified disabilities. Please note that the program does not extend to university students.

Application Process and Deadlines

Applications for the 2026/2027 school year open on July 1, 2026, and can be submitted via the ZUS electronic platform, electronic banking, the Emp@tia portal, or the mZUS mobile app. Submitting in July or August guarantees payment by September 30.

Applications filed in September, October, or November will be processed within two months of submission. Applying early allows parents to plan their school supply budgets effectively before the academic year commences.

Program Expenditure and Usage

The program provides a flat 300 PLN support per child. Although this amount has remained unchanged for nine years, it represents a massive national investment; by late 2025, nearly 4.8 million benefits were paid out, totaling approximately 1.4 billion PLN.

There is no requirement to present receipts or account for how the funds are spent. Parents may use the money for any educational needs, including stationery, gym clothes, and school footwear.
