5-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Private Pond While Under Father’s Care

A five-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday, May 10, in Popielów, Węgrów County, after drowning in an unfenced pond located on the private property where the child resided.

Circumstances of the Tragedy

The incident occurred on a private property in Popielów on Sunday, May 10. The child was under the supervision of his father at the time of the drowning. Subsequent testing revealed that the father was under the influence of alcohol, with a recorded blood alcohol level of 0.26 promille.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Police officers conducted an on-site investigation under the supervision of a prosecutor to secure evidence and establish the exact circumstances of the tragedy. The boy’s body has been secured for an autopsy.
