64-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Borków Home; Husband Arrested After Manhunt

Police apprehended a 65-year-old man in a forest near Kielce on Sunday following a two-day search, after his wife was found dead in their Borków home on Friday.

The Arrest

Sub-inspector Małgorzata Perkowska-Kiepas of the Kielce Municipal Police reported that the 65-year-old suspect was detained shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5. He had been sought by authorities since Friday.

The man was found in a forest complex by officers participating in the search. He was described as physically weakened, requiring medical attention from an ambulance crew summoned to the scene.

The suspect did not resist arrest and was reportedly surprised by the presence of the police. Following a medical evaluation, he was transported to a hospital under police escort, where authorities await his recovery to conduct formal procedural actions.

Discovery of the Victim

The tragedy occurred on Friday, July 3, in Borków, approximately 15 kilometers from Kielce. Emergency services were dispatched to the residence after receiving a report that a woman was unresponsive; a physician subsequently confirmed her death at the scene.

Investigators are working under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the cause of death. Preliminary findings suggest the involvement of a third party, prompting the search for the victim’s husband, who was believed to be the last person to see her alive.

Background and Investigation

More than 100 police officers, supported by a police helicopter, were involved in the search across Kielce and the nearby forested areas. According to law enforcement, there were no prior interventions or “Blue Card” domestic violence procedures recorded at the address.
