Police Apprehend 65-Year-Old Man Following Death of 64-Year-Old Woman in Borków

Following a two-day search involving over 100 officers, authorities in Kielce apprehended a 65-year-old man on Sunday morning after his wife was found dead at their home in Borków on Friday.

The Arrest in the Forest

Sub-inspector Małgorzata Perkowska-Kiepas of the Kielce Municipal Police stated that the 65-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday, July 5, shortly after 6 a.m. He was located by officers within a forest complex.

The man offered no resistance during the arrest, though he appeared visibly weakened and surprised by the presence of police. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene immediately following his capture.

Investigation Into the Tragedy

The incident occurred on Friday, July 3, in Borków, approximately 15 kilometers from Kielce. Emergency services were called to the home, where medical personnel confirmed the 64-year-old woman was deceased.

Investigators, working under the supervision of a prosecutor, are currently determining the cause of death. Preliminary findings suggest that a third party may have been involved in the woman’s death.

Police Search Operation

Authorities initiated a manhunt for the husband, who was identified as the last person to have seen the victim alive. The search operation involved over 100 police officers and a helicopter, focusing on the Kielce area and surrounding woodlands.

Police records indicate that there were no previous interventions at the couple’s residence, and no domestic violence proceedings, known as the “Blue Card,” had ever been initiated at that address.
