President Nawrocki Confirms NATO Goals Met at Ankara Summit

Following the NATO summit in Ankara, President Karol Nawrocki declared that Poland’s strategic objectives have been achieved, emphasizing a unified alliance and the enduring strength of trans-Atlantic security ties.

Achieving Polish Objectives

President Karol Nawrocki summarized the Ankara summit, confirming that all Polish expectations regarding the North Atlantic Alliance have been fulfilled. He characterized the current state of NATO as strong, united, and firmly determined to defend its core values.

Nawrocki noted that speeches from member state leaders clearly demonstrated the Alliance’s collective readiness to address ongoing international challenges.

Russia Identified as Primary Threat

Participants at the summit reached a consensus in designating Russia as the primary, long-term threat to the Alliance. Nawrocki stressed that this threat extends beyond the war in Ukraine, posing a direct danger to the security of Poland and the broader Central and Eastern European region.

Strengthening the Trans-Atlantic Bond

The President underscored the significance of the trans-Atlantic relationship, highlighting the United States as Poland’s key strategic ally. He observed that the summit reaffirmed the durability of cooperation between Europe and the U.S.
