Radom Police Mustang Wrecked After Months in Service

A high-profile Ford Mustang, seized from a drunk driver and repurposed as a Radom police patrol vehicle, has been totaled in a collision while responding to an urgent call.

The Collision on the Road to Zakrzew

A serious road incident occurred near the village of Bielicha, on the route from Radom toward Zakrzew. A police cruiser, driven by a local officer, was responding to an urgent call with its emergency signals activated when it collided with a Volkswagen traveling in the same direction.

Emergency Response and Outcome

Emergency services arrived at the scene around 12:30 p.m. Although the damage to both vehicles appeared severe, the incident was classified as a collision, and fortunately, no injuries were reported among those involved.

Official Police Statement

The Radom Municipal Police Headquarters explained that the patrol car was overtaking vehicles when the driver of the Volkswagen began a left-hand turn. The collision caused the police vehicle to strike a property fence and the Volkswagen to veer into a ditch.

A Controversial Vehicle’s Short Tenure

This specific Mustang was not purchased with public funds; it was confiscated by the court from a driver caught operating the vehicle under the influence. Rather than being auctioned, it was transferred to the police force due to its excellent condition. The vehicle served as a patrol car for less than four months, and its future remains uncertain pending an assessment of the damage.
