Five-Vehicle Collision on the S8 Route

Around 4:25 PM on the S8 route, before the Łabiszyńska junction in Targówek, a serious collision occurred involving five vehicles, including a truck. As a result of the incident, a child was injured.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the Volvo truck, which was transporting scrap metal, most likely failed to maintain due care and rear-ended a Peugeot driving ahead of it. The force of the impact triggered a chain reaction: the Peugeot struck a Skoda, which then hit a Honda, and the Honda collided with a passenger Volvo.

Injuries and Driver Sobriety

As a result of the multi-car pile-up, a child traveling in the passenger Volvo sustained injuries. The injured minor received medical assistance from paramedics and was subsequently transported to a hospital.

All drivers involved in the incident were tested for alcohol in their systems—they were sober and possessed valid driving licenses, with the truck driver having held his for a year.

Emergency Response and Traffic Disruptions

Fire department units, emergency medical teams, and the police are working at the scene. Officers are securing the accident site and conducting operations, while services are removing wrecked vehicles and debris.

There are very heavy disruptions on the S8 route towards Bielan. Three traffic lanes are blocked, and transit is moving exclusively via a single lane. A long traffic jam has formed in the area of the incident, and drivers should exercise extreme caution and choose an alternative route if possible.
