PiS Faces Internal Split as Morawiecki Allies Form New Parliamentary Club

PiS lawmakers are set to hold an urgent out-of-town meeting on Thursday as the party faces potential club losses following the launch of the Rozwój Plus parliamentary group by Mateusz Morawiecki’s associates.

Urgent Meeting and Party Consolidation

PiS deputies and senators will meet on Thursday, July 30, at 18:00 for an out-of-town parliamentary club meeting, according to unofficial findings by WirtualnaPolska. One PiS politician stated that the gathering aims to consolidate and confirm unity, with the chairman mobilizing members to look forward despite the breakaway action.

The meeting is reportedly intended to discuss next steps and action strategy after parliamentarians linked to Mateusz Morawiecki announced the creation of the Rozwój Plus club.

Rozwój Plus Parliamentary Group

Mateusz Morawiecki explained during a Wednesday press conference that 40 MPs and senators decided to establish a new political forum to avoid party bickering, noting that the Rozwój Plus association focuses on expert initiatives.

Reports from PAP indicate that the application to form the Rozwój Plus parliamentary club has been submitted to the Sejm Marshal. Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated that the documents will be verified, allowing the new club to function once formal steps are completed.

Resignation and Disciplinary Proceedings

Marshal Czarzasty and PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek noted that establishing a new club requires resigning from the PiS club, with party leadership awaiting formal resignation declarations from the members involved.

On Tuesday, July 28, Rafał Bochenek announced that the PiS Political Committee approved a list of individuals who failed to submit or improperly submitted required party affiliation declarations, forwarding the matter to the PiS disciplinary spokesperson.
