Collision on Bartnicza and Ogiński Streets
On Wednesday, August 12, just before 4:00 PM at the intersection of Bartnicza and Ogiński streets in Warsaw’s Bródno district, a collision occurred between municipal bus line 114 and a Toyota used for rideshare services via an application.
Two bus passengers were injured and taken to the hospital as a result of the crash.
Failure to Yield Right of Way
Initial findings regarding the course of events indicate that the driver of the Toyota was exiting Ogiński Street. The man, a citizen of Tajikistan, failed to yield the right of way to the municipal bus traveling along Bartnicza Street.
The two vehicles collided, and following the impact, the Toyota veered off course and struck a road sign.
Hospitalization and Driver Sobriety
As a result of the accident, two passengers from bus line 114 required medical attention. After receiving aid at the scene, both were transported to the hospital.
Both the bus driver and the Toyota driver were sober and possessed the required driving licenses.
Police Investigation on Site
After rescue operations concluded, further activities at the scene were conducted by police officers from the traffic division’s accident section.
The officers worked to thoroughly explain the circumstances and course of the incident.
