Direct Pension Supplements and Exemptions
The updated indexation has increased pension and disability payments as well as official supplements. Note that all specific benefits listed below are completely exempt from income tax (PIT) and are protected from bailiff deductions.
Care Supplements and Disability Support
The nursing supplement is set at 366.68 PLN per month. Individuals over 75 receive this automatically, while younger recipients must submit a medical certificate confirming incapacity for independent existence.
The “500 plus” benefit for dependent individuals reaches up to 500 PLN monthly. Following indexation, the gross income threshold for the full benefit has been adjusted to 2,687.67 PLN; the full amount is awarded if permanent income does not exceed 2,187.67 PLN gross.
Healthcare and Medication Access
The “Free Medicines 65+” program entitles citizens aged 65 and older to drugs from a list of nearly 4,000 subsidized preparations. To utilize this, a physician must include the “S” code on the prescription.
Transport, Culture, and Public Fees
Pensioners are legally entitled to two annual train journeys with a 37% discount in second class. Additionally, the “Senior Ticket” provides a permanent 30% discount on unlimited travel for anyone over 60.
Television subscription fees are waived unconditionally for individuals aged 75 and older. Seniors over 60 may also qualify for an exemption if their monthly pension does not exceed 50% of the previous year’s average salary.
