On Saturday, June 13, a collision involving an Audi and a Volkswagen occurred in Gorz贸w Wielkopolski; witnesses and an off-duty police officer apprehended the driver, who was intoxicated and unlicensed.
The Incident and Pursuit
The collision took place on Saturday, June 13, shortly before 3:00 PM on Szarych Szereg贸w Street in Gorz贸w Wielkopolski. City surveillance footage shows an Audi crashing into a Volkswagen, after which the driver and his passenger fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses immediately pursued the men. Chief Commissioner Grzegorz Jaroszewicz of the Municipal Police Headquarters confirmed that the individuals were detained thanks to the swift intervention of an off-duty officer and nearby bystanders. No one sustained serious injuries.
Drunken Driving and Narcotics Seizure
Police testing revealed that the 27-year-old Audi driver had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding two per mil and lacked a valid driver’s license. During a vehicle inspection, investigators discovered nearly 200 grams of mephedrone and MDMA tablets.
The driver now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, possession of significant quantities of narcotics, and causing the traffic collision.
