A new IBRiS poll reveals a close race for the Krakow mayoralty following the recent recall of Aleksander Miszalski, as potential candidates prepare for upcoming snap elections in the city.

Polling Data for Mayoral Contenders
According to the IBRiS survey conducted for the New Left, 17.2 percent of Krakow residents would support Łukasz Gibała for mayor. Daria Gosek-Popiołek of the Left follows with 13.5 percent, while Michał Drewnicki of PiS holds 13.2 percent, and Monika Piątkowska, representing the KO and PSL coalition, sits at 12 percent.
Further candidates include Bartosz Bocheńczak (5.9 percent), Michał Klimek (5 percent), Aleksandra Owca (3.8 percent), Jan Hoffman (2.1 percent), and Marian Banaś (1.4 percent), with 20.6 percent of respondents undecided.
Status of the Upcoming Elections
Krakow residents voted to remove Aleksander Miszalski from office in a May 24 referendum. While the Prime Minister has yet to set a date for the snap elections, the electoral code mandates they must occur within 90 days of the referendum results being announced.
Methodology and Technical Details
The IBRiS survey was conducted between June 10 and June 14 among 1,000 adult Krakow residents using mixed-mode online and telephone interviews. The study carries a 3 percent margin of error at a 0.95 confidence level.
