65-Year-Old Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Stabbing Relative

Grodzisk Mazowiecki police arrested a 65-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his 41-year-old nephew in the chest with a kitchen knife following an alcohol-fueled domestic dispute in Żabia Wola.

The Incident and Police Intervention

Several days ago, shortly before 7:00 a.m., police in Grodzisk Mazowiecki were called to a home in the Żabia Wola municipality. Officers discovered a man lying on the floor suffering from a chest wound.

The officers immediately called for medical assistance and provided first aid to the victim until the emergency team arrived.

The Confrontation and Arrest

Investigators determined that the 41-year-old victim had been drinking alcohol with his uncle prior to the assault. A dispute broke out between the two men, leading the older relative to attack the victim with a kitchen knife.

The victim was transported to the hospital, and police apprehended the 65-year-old suspect at the scene.

Legal Consequences

Based on the evidence gathered, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Żyrardów charged the 65-year-old with attempted murder. At the request of investigators, the court ordered the suspect to be held in custody for three months.

The crime of attempted murder carries a potential sentence of life imprisonment.
