Ukrainian Drone Strike Leaves Sevastopol Without Power

A massive overnight drone attack on energy infrastructure has left the Russian-occupied city of Sevastopol entirely without electricity, according to reports from Russian sources cited by Ukrainska Pravda.

Blackout in Occupied Sevastopol

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of occupied Sevastopol, confirmed that the city’s power supply was completely severed following the overnight drone assault. Russian occupation authorities have asked residents to conserve battery life on their mobile devices as officials assess the extent of the damage to the power station.

Razvozhayev publicly dismissed the blackout, stating that local authorities have endured worse and will survive this latest disruption. Sevastopol remains the primary base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet, though many vessels have been relocated to Novorossiysk due to persistent Ukrainian strikes.

Widespread Explosions Across Crimea

In addition to Sevastopol, explosions were reported in Bakhchysarai, Kerch, and near the Ai-Petri mountain, which houses a Russian radar station. Reports also emerged of a fire near an electrical substation in Simferopol.

Oleg Kryuchkov, an advisor to the head of the annexed territory, announced “preventive” rotational power outages across the peninsula. Preliminary data indicates that approximately half of Crimea is currently experiencing electricity shortages.

Escalation of Ukrainian Strikes on Logistics

Ukraine has intensified its targeting of Russian logistics, recently destroying a strategic railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal. Military operations have focused heavily on the occupied Crimean Peninsula and the southern regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, stated on Wednesday that the occupied peninsula is expected to be cut off from the outside world in the near future due to ongoing drone strikes.
