Recovery Operation and Investigation
Emergency services were alerted around noon to a body floating in the Vistula near the Pockie Embankment in North Praga. Due to the difficult location, the Specialist Water and Diving Rescue Group from Warsaw was deployed to extract the remains.
Police are currently working at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. Forensic examinations are underway, and investigators are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
Possible Link to Previous Drowning
The discovery may be connected to an incident last Sunday involving a 15-year-old Ukrainian citizen who drowned in the same area. Despite extensive search efforts following the initial accident, the teenager’s body was not recovered at that time.
Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the identity of the recovered individual. Further police and prosecutorial procedures are required to determine if the remains belong to the missing teenager.
Public Safety Notice
Officials have requested that the public avoid the area to allow investigative teams to conduct their duties without interference. Meanwhile, the Government Security Centre reported that four people drowned across the province yesterday.
