Apprehension at the Store
Bielany police officers arrested a 37-year-old man at a store on Dąbrowska Street after he attempted to leave with unpaid groceries. The store’s security guard spotted the suspect concealing merchandise and alerted the authorities, who transported the individual to the police station on Żeromski Street.
Pattern of Serial Theft
Subsequent investigations revealed that the man had been systematically targeting the same store since March of last year. He is accused of stealing various high-value items, primarily salmon, shrimp, and chocolates, accumulating a total loss exceeding 5,000 PLN.
Legal Consequences and Deportation Request
The suspect faces up to five years in prison for the thefts. In addition to criminal charges, the police have submitted a formal request to the Border Guard to issue a decision compelling the foreign national to return to his country of origin. The Warsaw Żoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the case.
