Kosiniak-Kamysz Orders Declassification of Ukraine Arms Transfers Amid Patriot Missile Controversy

Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has ordered the declassification of all arms donations to Ukraine following opposition allegations that the government secretly transferred critical Patriot missile interceptors to Kyiv.

Defense Minister Orders Investigation

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated he has instructed the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) to investigate who intentionally sought to leak state secrets. He emphasized that the donation process began under the previous PiS government led by Mariusz Błaszczak, with the President regularly informed of all transfers.

The Minister warned that acting against the Polish raison d’état compromises national security during an ongoing war at the border. He vowed that those responsible for disclosing sensitive information will be held accountable, regardless of their immunity status.

Opposition Alleges Secret Transfers

The controversy stems from reports that the Polish government secretly provided Ukraine with scarce PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles in March. Krzysztof Bosak of the Confederation party claimed these were the only missiles capable of countering Iskander rockets stationed in the Kaliningrad Oblast.

Former Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak labeled the potential transfer a “gigantic scandal.” Marcin Przydacz, head of the Presidential International Policy Bureau, added that it is “very probable” that the government transferred the Patriot system missiles to Ukraine in the spring.
