Sudden Windstorm Causes Damage Across Warsaw

Following severe weather conditions after 5 p.m., emergency services in Warsaw responded to approximately 15 incidents involving fallen trees and debris across the Bemowo, Ochota, Mokotów, and Ursynów districts.

Impact on Infrastructure and Traffic

Strong winds and heavy rainfall led to over a dozen emergency interventions, with crews still operating as late as 8 p.m. Damage reports included a tree falling onto a moving vehicle on Żwirki i Wigury street near the Skra stadium, though the driver remained uninjured.

Additional traffic hazards included a construction fence blown onto the road on Skarżyńskiego street and a tree falling onto a parked car on Stroma street. On Dywizjonu 303 street, a tree collapsed onto a fence.

Unusual Damage and Utility Disruptions

In a rare incident on Barcelońska street, five uninstalled photovoltaic panels were blown off a building by the wind, damaging at least two parked vehicles. Police are currently investigating the matter.

By 8 p.m., firefighters were addressing downed trees on the power grid at Trakt Leśny street in Ursynów, following a request for assistance from utility workers.
