Another Fraudster Arrested by Detectives Remanded in Custody

Warsaw police have arrested a 33-year-old man who collected 31,000 PLN from an 87-year-old senior under the guise of bail for a fictitious accident involving her niece in England.

The Bail Scam Phone Call

A report regarding a fraud reached the police precinct, revealing that the perpetrators operated using the “bail for an accident” method. The victim received a phone call and was informed that her niece, living in England, had caused an accident by hitting a cyclist and faced temporary detention. To avoid this, paying bail was necessary, leading the senior to hand over 31,000 PLN to an unknown man at an agreed location to help her niece.

Police Investigation and Identification

Detectives took over the fraud case. Following numerous findings, checks, the verification of acquired information, and the gathering of evidence, they reached the man suspected of the fraud who had collected the money from the 87-year-old.

Surprise Arrest and Mephedrone Seizure

The 33-year-old was surprised by police officers at his place of residence. During a search, detectives found a ready-to-consume dose of mephedrone on the table, which was secured along with the drugs as the man was taken to a police cell.

Charges Filed and Court Decision

Based on the gathered procedural materials, the detainee was presented with charges of fraud and possession of narcotics. The Warsaw Praga-Południe District Prosecutor’s Office submitted a motion to the court for temporary arrest, which the court approved, sending the 33-year-old to custody under the supervision of the same prosecutor’s office.
