Audi Cabrio Crashes Into Six Parked Cars After Launching Off Pedestrian Island in Warsaw

A 41-year-old driver lost control of his Audi Cabrio after hitting a pedestrian island on Rozbrat Street in Warsaw on Wednesday night, damaging six parked vehicles.

High-Speed Crash on Rozbrat Street

On Wednesday at around 22:55 on Rozbrat Street in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district, a serious traffic incident occurred involving seven vehicles. The driver of an Audi lost control of the vehicle, subsequently striking parked cars and road infrastructure elements, though fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the Audi convertible was traveling at a significant speed along Rozbrat Street when the car drove onto a raised pedestrian island. The vehicle scraped its undercarriage against the asphalt and hit a curb.

Tire Damage and Out-of-Control Drive

The collision caused a tire to be damaged, resulting in the driver losing control of the car. The Audi traveled another 100 to 200 meters, hitting parked vehicles and infrastructure along the way, ultimately damaging six cars in total—three severely and three to a lesser extent.

The force of the impacts was great enough that one of the wheels tore off the Audi and landed in nearby bushes, while the car continued driving on its bare rim, leaving long scratches and gouges in the asphalt.

Driver Status and Police Intervention

A man sitting inside one of the parked Toyota vehicles at the time of the incident was examined by paramedics but did not require hospitalization, and the Audi driver also escaped serious injury. The perpetrator was identified as a 41-year-old Polish citizen who tested sober on a breathalyzer.

A police system check revealed that the man was wanted on an arrest warrant for a correctional facility, but he was able to pay a substitute financial penalty. After the payment, officers concluded the traffic incident through a fining procedure, issuing the 41-year-old a 5,000 PLN fine and penalty points.

Road Closure and Emergency Response

During the emergency operations, Rozbrat Street was completely blocked in both directions, with police, firefighters, paramedics, and public transport traffic supervisors working at the scene. Damaged cars were towed away, and emergency services cleared the wreckage and debris from the roadway.
