Crisis Response Statistics
In June 2026, psychologists and educators at the Children’s Helpline conducted 3,545 conversations and performed 151 interventions to protect the lives and health of children. During the same period, the office received 8,201 pieces of correspondence, processed 6,696 requests, and participated in 282 court hearings.
Common Mental Health Struggles
Specialists report that young people frequently feel overwhelmed by school, family dynamics, and peer pressure. Many struggle with issues such as romantic relationship problems, end-of-school-year stress, self-harm, eating disorders, peer violence, and thoughts of resignation.
Anonymous Support Services
The helpline provides a non-judgmental, anonymous space for children and adolescents to seek support without the need for registration or application installations. Assistance is available 24/7 via the toll-free number 800 12 12 12 or through an online chat platform.
Operational Background and Funding
The Children’s Helpline was established on November 20, 2008, in cooperation with Telekomunikacja Polska, now Orange. The service is funded by the state budget as part of the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, with an estimated annual cost of approximately 7 million PLN.
