Civic Coalition Party Clears MP Pępek Over Alleged Queue Jumping

The Civic Coalition parliamentary club has decided against taking disciplinary action regarding MP Małgorzata Pępek, following allegations that she bypassed a lengthy waiting list for medical examinations at a hospital in Żywiec.

The Parliamentary Club’s Stance

The Civic Coalition parliamentary club assembly reviewed media reports concerning MP Małgorzata Pępek during a scheduled meeting. Club spokesperson Dorota Łoboda stated that members listened to the MP’s comprehensive explanations.

The club clarified that the information presented does not confirm the version of events described in some media reports. Due to the medical nature of the matter, the club stated it cannot disclose further details.

Allegations of Preferential Treatment

Reports suggested that on February 22 of last year, MP Pępek received a specialist examination in Żywiec despite a waiting time exceeding 23 months. Allegations claimed she bypassed patients who had registered earlier and that the hospital did not bill the National Health Fund for the procedure.

The hospital reportedly informed the MP that she should not accelerate appointment times in the future but did not request reimbursement for the procedure.

Pępek’s Defense and Accusations of Retaliation

Małgorzata Pępek denies influencing the waiting list, stating that the hospital contacted her after a slot became available. She argues that the hospital’s actions constitute a form of retaliation for her ongoing criticism of the facility’s management and transparency.

The MP labeled the accusations as groundless, noting that the procedure was performed according to protocols. She has announced intentions to take legal action regarding the unauthorized disclosure of her medical information.
