Driver Flees Scene After Crashing Car in Warsaw’s Aleje Jerozolimskie

A driver abandoned their SsangYong after losing control and crashing into traffic infrastructure at the intersection of Popularna Street and Aleje Jerozolimskie on Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation.

Crash at a Major Intersection

A serious-looking traffic incident occurred on Saturday morning at the intersection of Popularna Street and Aleje Jerozolimskie. A SsangYong driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons, striking both a road sign and a cyclist support structure.

The incident was reported to emergency services at 7:19 a.m. in the Włochy district of Warsaw. The vehicle sustained significant damage and came to a stop in an unusual position, left partially suspended with one wheel in the air.

Police Investigation Underway

The driver fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived. Officers secured the area and conducted on-site investigations for several hours to establish the circumstances of the collision.

The vehicle was towed to a police impound lot shortly before 12:00 p.m. Authorities are currently working to identify the driver, determine why they abandoned the vehicle, and ascertain the specific cause of the loss of control.
