Driver Rejects Police Fine on AI Advice, Receives Eightfold Penalty in Court

A 30-year-old driver in Zabrze who refused a standard 100-pln speeding fine based on artificial intelligence guidance has been ordered by a court to pay an 800-pln fine instead.

Speeding Violation and Initial Fine

A few weeks ago on Korfantego Street in Zabrze, a police radar registered an Opel whose driver exceeded the speed limit by 14 kilometers per hour. Under current regulations, this offense carries a standard 100-pln fine.

Reliance on Artificial Intelligence

When officers from the Zabrze traffic department attempted to issue the fine to the 30-year-old man, he firmly refused. According to the Zabrze Municipal Police Headquarters, the driver stated that while officers were checking him in their systems, he consulted a popular artificial intelligence tool that advised him not to accept the penalty on the spot.

Court Ruling and Increased Penalty

Following standard procedure, the officers forwarded a request for punishment to the court, which reviewed the evidence and found the 30-year-old guilty of the offense. Police noted that the ruling served as a painful lesson not to blindly trust artificial intelligence, as the court imposed an 800-pln fine, which is eight times higher than the original ticket.

Police Warnings Regarding Court Fines

Law enforcement authorities reminded the public that refusing a fine does not exempt a person from liability, but merely transfers the case to a court capable of imposing a much higher penalty. Police appealed for common sense and urged citizens to rely on verified sources of legal knowledge rather than unverified AI-generated advice.
