Fire Erupts in Bródno Apartment; Unconscious Man Rescued by Firefighters

Emergency services responded to a serious apartment fire on Wyszogrodzka Street in Warsaw’s Bródno district late Friday night, where firefighters rescued an unconscious man from a smoke-filled ground-floor unit.

The Rescue Operation

On Friday evening, emergency services were dispatched to Wyszogrodzka Street following reports of a fire and heavy smoke on the second floor of a building. Upon arrival, crews discovered the fire was actually located in a ground-floor apartment.

The situation was critical, with metal security bars on the windows complicating entry. Firefighters were forced to breach the door to gain access to the premises.

Medical Response

Inside, crews encountered an active fire and an unconscious male occupant who still exhibited vital signs. He was promptly evacuated from the smoke-filled apartment and handed over to medical personnel.

The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The response involved three fire engine crews, the city’s operational group, three medical rescue teams, and the police.

Investigation and Safety Risks

Firefighters secured the site and extinguished the flames. Police are now conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the blaze.
