Fugitive Caught Stealing Fire Extinguisher in Warsaw

Municipal guards apprehended a 34-year-old man in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district on June 18, 2026, after he stole a fire extinguisher from a gas station and was found to be a wanted fugitive.

The Arrest on Chodakowska Street

Municipal guards patrolling the area near ul. Chodakowska observed a man leaving a gas station acting nervously and concealing an object under his clothing. When the patrol approached, the suspect attempted to flee toward ul. Mińska.

Officers caught the man on ul. Mińska. Due to his failure to comply with commands, the guards were forced to use direct coercive measures, including restraint holds and handcuffs, before returning him to the gas station.

Stolen Property and Police Involvement

Staff at the gas station confirmed the theft of a fire extinguisher valued at 54.99 PLN. During the search of the 34-year-old resident of Biała Podlaska, officers also discovered a glass pipe containing suspected drug residue.

After police arrived at the scene, the stolen item was recovered and the suspect was issued a fine for the theft. A database check revealed the man was wanted to serve a prison sentence.

Final Processing of the Fugitive

Police officers transported the suspect to the District Police Headquarters for Warsaw VII to conduct further procedural actions. The individual has since been processed and handed over to the relevant authorities for his outstanding warrant.
