Four Men Indicted for Plotting Terror Attacks in Poland

Prosecutors in Olsztyn have formally charged four men, aged 19 to 20, with planning terrorist acts, including targeting religious sites and schools while radicalized by extremist ideologies.

The Investigation and Detentions

The Internal Security Agency (ABW) began operations in June of last year, initially detaining three men suspected of plotting terrorist acts. Two were subsequently arrested, while the third was placed under non-custodial preventive measures.

Investigators discovered the suspects were researching firearm handling, shooting stances, and combat tactics online. The case expanded in September with the detention of a fourth individual, leading to the final indictment of all four men residing in the Olsztyn area.

Ideological Roots and Preparation

The suspects reportedly trained at shooting ranges, acquired airsoft replicas, and conducted military-tactical drills. Authorities recovered pyrotechnic materials and instructional manuals on constructing explosive devices.

ABW noted that the individuals were inspired by mass murderers such as Anders Breivik, Brenton Tarrant, and Timothy McVeigh. Their fascination with these figures and their respective ideologies led to the development of extreme radical moral positions.

Specific Targets and Charges

According to prosecutor Daniel Brodowski, the suspects focused their attention on religious sites, schools, and locations where ethnic or cultural minorities congregate.

The formal charges against the 19 to 20-year-olds include not only the planning of terrorist murders but also the propagation of Nazi and fascist ideologies. Some of the accused individuals were former schoolmates.
