Garbage Truck Catches Fire Inside Incinerator
On Monday before 10:00 AM, a fire broke out involving a garbage truck on the grounds of the new MPO waste incineration plant located at 2 Zabraniecka Street in Warsaw’s Targ贸wek district. The vehicle ignited inside one of the facility’s buildings.
Emergency Services Respond to the Blaze
The report regarding the fire was received by emergency services at 9:44 AM. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that a waste collection vehicle was engulfed in flames, prompting rescuers to secure the scene and initiate firefighting operations.
Fire Contained Without Structural Damage
The fire has been localized and is not spreading, with firefighters applying fire foam, extinguishing the remaining debris, and inspecting the rooms where the vehicle was located. According to current information, the structure of the new building was not damaged, though plumes of black smoke were visible above the building during the incident.
No Injuries Reported During Firefighting Operation
Six fire service units are operating at the scene, and no one was injured in the incident. A thorough inspection of the burnt area will be conducted once the firefighting operations are completed.
