Horrific Crime in Skawina: Murder Weapon Recovered, Police Offered Psychological Support

Authorities in Skawina, Poland, have discovered the bodies of a couple, their eight-day-old infant, and the wife’s mother, with investigators confirming the father committed the murders before taking his own life.

Discovery of the Crime Scene

Following a call from a concerned husband who could not contact his wife, police forced entry into a Skawina apartment on Friday, July 3. Inside, officers found the bodies of a 35-year-old man, his 27-year-old wife, their newborn daughter, and the 59-year-old grandmother who had been visiting to help with the baby.

The tragedy has deeply affected the responding personnel; both police officers and firefighters involved in the scene have been provided with psychological support.

Investigation into the Perpetrator

Investigators believe the 35-year-old father acted in a frenzy or under the influence of strong substances. He reportedly killed his wife, the infant, and his mother-in-law before ending his own life in a exceptionally cruel manner.

Authorities have recovered a knife from the scene, which is considered the murder weapon. The bodies have been transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine, with an autopsy scheduled for Monday afternoon.

No Prior History of Violence

The family was not known to police and had no record of domestic violence or previous interventions. Neighbors described the couple as calm, noting that the wife’s mother had only recently arrived to assist with the newborn, who was born just eight days prior to the incident.
