Poland’s Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has released updated forecasts detailing a gradual rise in temperatures this week, with the potential for a significant heatwave expected by mid-July.

Current Temperature Trends
On Tuesday, July 7, maximum temperatures will range from 16-17 degrees Celsius in the north and northeast to 23-24 degrees in the southwest and south. The southern half of the country may experience local thunderstorms, with wind speeds reaching up to 70 km/h during these events.
Forecast for the Coming Days
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management predicts that Wednesday will see highs of 14 degrees in the Suwałki region, 18 degrees in central areas and by the sea, and 23 degrees in the southwest. By Thursday, temperatures will hit 15 degrees in the Suwałki region and foothills, 20 degrees in the center, and 24 degrees in the southwest.
Gradual Warming Expected
Temperatures are set to rise gradually across the country. Friday and Saturday will be warmest in the southwest, reaching 25-26 degrees. By Sunday and Monday, western regions could see temperatures climb to 27-28 degrees.
The Mid-July Heatwave Outlook
Long-term forecasts suggest another heatwave is likely in mid-July. For the week of July 13-19, average maximum temperatures could exceed 30 degrees Celsius, particularly in southern Poland, as well as in the Świętokrzyskie and Łódź provinces.
