City Bus Driver Detained After Amphetamines Found in Cab

A 45-year-old bus driver was detained in Iława after hitting a traffic sign and mounting the sidewalk, with police discovering amphetamines inside the vehicle’s cabin during an inspection.

The Incident and Police Response

Following a collision involving a city bus in Iława, the driver was unable to provide a logical explanation for the sequence of events. During an inspection of the cabin, officers discovered amphetamines.

The Iława police confirmed that blood samples were taken from the driver to determine if he was under the influence of narcotics while operating the vehicle. This action was prompted by the discovery of drugs in the cabin.

Witness Reports and Safety Checks

Witnesses alerted police that the 45-year-old driver initially struck a traffic sign and repeatedly drove onto the sidewalk. The reporter suspected the driver was intoxicated; however, a breathalyzer test confirmed he was sober.

At the time of the collision, there were 18 passengers on board the bus. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

Legal Consequences
