The Armed Robbery at Westfield Mokot贸w
On December 30, 2024, three masked men stormed a jewelry store at the Westfield Mokot贸w shopping center in Warsaw. The attackers used tear gas against a security guard and threatened employees with items resembling firearms before smashing display cases to seize watches and jewelry.
Following the raid, the perpetrators fled the shopping center on electric scooters. Authorities recovered a bag containing a portion of the stolen goods later that same day.
International Manhunt and Arrest
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Criminal Division, in coordination with the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, spent months analyzing evidence and conducting operational work to identify the suspects. This investigation involved hundreds of hours of surveillance and data analysis.
The breakthrough came through international cooperation, resulting in the arrest of a 46-year-old male suspect while he was attempting to cross the border between Croatia and Serbia.
Status of the Investigation
Police have not yet disclosed the specific charges filed against the detainee, nor have they confirmed if he has been extradited to Polish authorities. Information regarding the remaining suspects remains withheld at this time.
