Attorney Jacek Dubois, representing 28-year-old physician Dawid Kacprzyk, announced on Wednesday that a criminal lawsuit will be filed if Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski does not retract statements described as defamatory. The allegations stem from a recent report by the Zero.pl portal.

Controversy Surrounding Hospital Management

Kacprzyk, who served as an emergency department coordinator while simultaneously holding a mandate as a Warsaw councilman, allegedly earned over 1.5 million PLN in one year. Reports suggest he established a VIP zone for politicians to bypass medical queues and purportedly attended City Council sessions while on hospital duty.

Whistleblower Allegations and Staff Rebuttals

Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, a whistleblower fired from the Southern Hospital, alleged in a recent interview that incompetence in the emergency department led to medical errors, falsified documentation, and preventable patient deaths. Conversely, surgery department head Piotr Szenk publicly refuted these claims, stating he observed no such irregularities and found the accusations appalling.

Prosecutorial Review of Medical Deaths

Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek confirmed that his office is reviewing 12 cases involving deaths at the Southern Hospital reported since 2023. Of these, five cases remain under active investigation, while others have been closed or dismissed. The Ministry is currently re-examining previously closed files to ensure comprehensive oversight.
