Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash Claims Lives of Two Children
Junior Aspirant Mateusz Pili艅ski from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters Press Office in 艁贸d藕 reported on Saturday that two children aged 9 and 11 died as a result of the accident. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) in 艁odzi added that five other people were also injured.
According to Pili艅ski, the driver of a Peugeot traveling along National Road 74 from Piotrk贸w toward Kielce drifted into the opposite lane for undetermined reasons, colliding head-on with a Toyota before striking a Nissan. Despite resuscitation efforts, the two children aged 9 and 11 traveling in the Peugeot died at the scene.
Emergency Response and Ongoing Investigation
Five other people were injured in the incident, and rescue workers and police officers continue to work at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor to clarify the circumstances of the crash.
The duty officer for the GDDKiA Road Information Point in 艁odzi stated that the accident occurred on Saturday at around 18:30, and the route between Sulej贸w and Parady偶 could remain blocked until midnight.
Road Closures and Rescue Operations
Pili艅ski noted that the road is blocked in both directions, though police have implemented detours.
The duty officer for the Voivodeship Headquarters of the State Fire Service in 艁odzi informed PAP that the rescue operation involved two emergency medical teams, an air ambulance crew (LPR), and six units of the state and voluntary fire service from the surrounding area.
