Planned Scope of Infrastructure Work
Taking advantage of lower traffic levels during the summer, maintenance crews will replace tracks, switches, and turnouts at the Kino Femina junction. The project also includes renovating tram stops and laying new asphalt on track crossings.
Additionally, repairs will be conducted on the tracks located between Okopowa and Żelazna streets to coincide with the temporary suspension of tram traffic.
Impact on Pedestrian and Vehicle Traffic
Motorists will encounter significant detours, with informational signage installed along primary routes from Wola, Żoliborz, Praga-Północ, and Mokotow. Drivers should prepare for restricted traffic flow throughout the construction period.
Pedestrian access will also change as crosswalks on all sides of the Kino Femina intersection will be closed. Foot traffic will be diverted to crossings at Ogrodowa and Nowolipie, as well as temporary paths near the church and the courts.
Tram Service Disruptions and Replacements
The work is split into two stages. From June 29 until early August, trams will not operate on Aleja „Solidarności” between Kercelaka and Femina, or on Aleja Jana Pawła II between Stawki and Femina. Service between Plac Bankowy and Rondo ONZ remains operational, with temporary stops established near the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Lines 13, 19, 23, 33, and 77 will be suspended, while lines 16, 17, 18, 20, and 26 will follow modified routes. Supplemental tram lines 63, 73, and 76 will be launched, alongside replacement bus lines Z26 and Z33.
Project Timeline for Final Completion
The second stage begins on August 3. Traffic patterns will shift, restricting access on Aleja Jana Pawła II from Rondo ONZ to Femina and Aleja „Solidarności” from Femina to Plac Bankowy. Full project completion is expected by the end of August.
